Strategic
Partnerships
At Addo Football Youth Academy, we believe in the power of collaboration to drive meaningful, sustainable impact. This page is dedicated to showcasing the incredible partners who walk alongside us—each bringing their unique strengths, tools, and innovations to help us better serve the youth of Nomathamsanqa.
Impact you can TRUST
To improve attendance monitoring and enhance the accuracy of our statistics across all AFYA programs, we are implementing the Teampact app.
This tool allows us to track each child's participation in real time, providing valuable insights into engagement levels.
With automated data syncing, Teampact ensures effortless and accurate attendance tracking, helping us better understand student needs and refine our programs.
Reliable data will allow us to make informed decisions, strengthen our impact, and demonstrate measurable results to funders and stakeholders.
Powering Education
Our partnership with School-in-a-Box brings quality, accessible education to learners in under-resourced communities through our Extra Time academic support program.
Fully aligned with the South African CAPS curriculum, School-in-a-Box provides structured and comprehensive lessons across all grades, from Grade 1 to Grade 12. The system offers interactive, engaging content designed to cater to various learning styles, which enhances both student participation and understanding.
Key benefits of this partnership include:
-
Loadshedding Proof: Uninterrupted learning, even during power outages, thanks to the system’s offline capabilities and minimal energy requirements
-
Offline Learning: Portable, durable tablets that provide access to high-quality education without the need for internet or electricity
-
Reporting System: A built-in reporting system that enables educators to track student progress and pinpoint areas for improvement—ensuring lessons are guided by real data and learner needs
By removing traditional barriers to education, School-in-a-Box is helping us create consistent, impactful learning experiences for every child in our program.
From Play to Purpose
“Path to Glory” is an immersive metaverse experience in The Sandbox, created by Puzzle Bros to raise awareness about forest conservation and community empowerment—with real-world impact rooted in South Africa.
In this virtual world, players can purchase NFT Seeds, each contributing directly to planting real trees in South Africa and beyond. Every tree carries the name of its donor, creating a tangible connection between the digital and natural worlds.
What makes this experience even more powerful? The main character is inspired by a real-life rising star from our very own AFYA program—bringing our mission to life in a new, creative space and showcasing the potential of our youth to a global audience.
By participating, you're not just playing a game—you're investing in futures, restoring forests, and walking a path to glory alongside the next generation.
Conservation Meets Community
Our growing partnership with SANParks reflects a shared vision for a future where conservation and community thrive side by side.
In 2023, SANParks generously donated funds to support the work of Addo Football Youth Academy, recognizing the role we play in uplifting youth from the communities surrounding Addo Elephant National Park. This initial support laid the foundation for a deeper, more integrated relationship.
Earlier this year, we were honored to attend SANParks’ Multi-Living Landscape Conference, where we joined conversations around creating spaces where people and nature coexist sustainably. Our presence at this conference was a proud moment, as it highlighted our commitment to being part of a broader, national movement of inclusive conservation and social development.
In 2024, our partnership has taken another meaningful step forward: AFYA has been invited to participate in SANParks’ School Holiday Programme, allowing us to engage youth through educational and recreational activities that promote environmental awareness and community pride.
Together, we are not only protecting the natural beauty of South Africa but also empowering the young people who call this land home.
